The FSx team is going through some changes. Some of the sponsors for the Fischer/Swix team will be different for the 2007-2008 season due to the fact that Fischer is producing a race pole this year. The team will be Fischer/Craft now and there will be a new site launched by Craft (hopefully soon). Until then, some of last years FSx athletes have new web sites for updates:

Winter returned to Boulder today and that meant skiing in North Boulder Park.  It is best to go after 8:30AM to avoid the huge pre-work crowd that jams the 1.2km loop.  I dropped my daughter off at school and headed over to ski at 9AM, which is perfect.  Only professional athletes, housewives and househusbands (it is Boulder) at that time of day.

I have been working pretty hard on our kitchen remodel - lifting sheets of plywood, cabinets and things like that - and my arms felt like they were going to fall off.  It is amazing how weak I become after a season of ski racing without doing any strength.  Bad planning; I need to harrass my coach about that.  (I read something on Fasterskier about training 850 hours, so I need to talk to my coach anyway...)

I was struggling to ski with any sort of reasonable technique and I was getting pretty frustrated with myself when a group of cyclists I know showed u ...

Class was cancelled all week for me. So, I had to make the best of it. Instead of my normal skiing in the morning and class in the afternoon I was forced to ski all day. After a great classic ski out at Kindaid park. I grabbed my big heavy skis and headed toward the big mountains. It was another epic day in the Chugiach Mtns 20min from Anchorage. Only six inches of power on a good base. Rough life we live. It is amazing how close good skiing is if you know where to go. For those of you that know the area we were at the top of highland road. Casey you missed out.

Don't worry Mom I have my avalanche beacon on at all times. And so do the other guys.

Yep that's m ... Read More »

Imagine this:

Alpine hill, master skier, nordic skis and a baby stroller sled.  Sounds like a disaster, doesn’t it.  I was able to watch this craziness happen and I must say it was not sure if I should be laughing or getting angry. We are at the finish line and we watched this guy come around the last turn and go down. Rolling down the hill with the baby sled following. Half the crowd was laughing the other half talking about calling child services.  So what happens next, ... Read More »
